Speaker Series: Stoicism in Medicine: Are there Healthier Alternatives?

Event Date: Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. PST

Presenter: Dimitrios Tsatiris, M.D.

Location: Attend from your desktop, or phone via Zoom

The culture of medicine promotes self-sacrifice and stoicism. As physicians, we are expected to ignore our feelings and keep on moving forward despite having a front row seat to human suffering. This talk will describe the negative impact of stoicism on one’s emotional health and present a healthier approach for facing adversity in medicine and life.
