Speaker Series: Living Fully, Dying Prepared

The presentation will provide the opportunity to reflect on your life and legacy and consider how you would like to be remembered at the end of your life. You are invited to identify your passion and best contribution to life.

Participants will explore medical training and experience with labor, delivery and birthing vs your medical training empowering patients who are at the end of life. You will be asked to reflect on a patient encounter that revealed possibilities for a positive death experience.

You will be encouraged to prepare your own wishes for care at the end of life. Resources to explore these topics will be provided for future investigation after the presentation.

Linda W. Peterson-St. Pierre, PhD, is a medical psychologist and professor emerita of pediatrics and family medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. She currently works with clients who are grieving over a loss or preparing for a natural death experience.

Anne Weisman, PhD, MPH, LMT, is the Director of Well-Being & Integrative Medicine with Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV and an Associate Professor of Medical Education. Dr. Weisman trained, certified and is also on faculty with the Center for Mind Body Medicine and uses many of these modalities and approaches in her work & throughout the community.
