There is no charge to participate in the sessions, but pre-registration is required.
This program is targeted toward all clinicians who would like to look more deeply into the topics about how to better care for one's self as a clinician and the impact of that on patients, learners, and the practice of medicine.
This one-time per month series offers a variety of topics over the course of one year, which will be delivered in an experiential way. All of the topics will include a research component along with a way to practice what is being learned in the session.

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:
Session 1 | Compassion | December 13th from 7:30 - 8:30 am
Develop ways to promote/enhance compassion both towards one's patients in clinical care, and towards oneself
Session 2 | The Science Behind Mindfulness | January 10th from 7:30 - 8:30 am
Explain the neuroscience behind mindfulness
Describe how mindfulness can be used to facilitate wellbeing
Session 3 | Communication | February 14th from 7:30 - 8:30 am
Identify ways in which you could adopt new behaviors, attitudes and strategies for being aware of, and engaging with healthy communication in your work life
Session 4 | Responding to Suffering | March 14th from 7:30 - 8:30 am
Identify and practice strategies to cultivate the mental stability and presence needed to respond effectively to patients' suffering in situations when one might otherwise turn away from it

Each webinar is 1.00 hour. A maximum of 4.00 hours is available over the course of the 4 sessions.
