Speaker Series: The Art of Presence – Deepening Patient Care, the Window of Tolerance, and Physician Wellness

This workshop enhances clinical effectiveness by teaching physicians how to cultivate presence, attunement, and trauma-informed communication with patients while staying within their own window of tolerance.

  • 1) Describe the concept of the Window of Tolerance and identify how it applies to their own emotional regulation and clinical performance.

    2) Recognize early signs of dysregulation (hyperarousal or hypoarousal) during patient care and apply strategies to return to a state of presence.

    3) Apply trauma-informed communication principles that support both ethical and safe patient care and physician well-being.

    4) Reflect on and implement techniques that enhance their capacity to stay emotionally grounded in high-stress clinical scenarios.
