Event Date: Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. PST

Presenter: Natalie Johns

Location: Attend from your desktop, or phone via Zoom

There is no charge to participate in this session, but pre-registration is required.

Natalie Johns is a third year medical student at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a native Nevadan. Natalie has shared how to make and use comics to serve a number of functions in healthcare as a guest lecturer for both graduate and undergraduate students at UNLV and to youth citizen scientists in Illinois.

During this presentation, you will seek to understand the core principles of Graphic Medicine and its significance in the healthcare landscape. We will explore the power of comics as a tool for healthcare providers to navigate the challenges, triumphs, and emotions they encounter in their daily professional lives.

No prior artistic skills are required—just an open mind and a willingness to express yourself through the universal language of images and words.
