The Healing Power of Poetry and Medicine

There is no charge to participate in the sessions, but pre-registration is required. 

Join us on March 17, 2022 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm to discover the healing power of poetry in Medicine. Poetry written by physicians can address and reflect upon the experience and meanings of healing and illness. This will be a one hour presentation with a panel of physicians presenting their poems and sharing about their process. This will be an evening of discoveries and touching into the humanistic nature of medicine and art.

Learning Objectives

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Discover how different forms of art help one to process and reflect upon the practice of medicine to support greater wellbeing

  • Integrate and learn new options to help prevent burnout

  • Connect with colleagues to reflect upon shared experience and meaning in the practice of medicine

    A maximum of 3.50 hours is available over the course of the 3 sessions.
