Speaker Series: Avoiding Avoidance Avoids Burnout

Event Date: Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. PST

Presenter: Tarrah Hodges, MFT

Location: Attend from your desktop, or phone via Zoom

There is no charge to participate in this session, but pre-registration is required.

This session will explore avoidance as a means to survive the emotional ups and downs of life. Participants will discover the role of avoidance in their life and develop new ways to tolerate emotions without suffering the emotional and physical consequences.

Tarrah believes life is full of mixed experiences with some being easier to make sense of than others. One thing that remains as an inevitable fact is the need for growth. Like a root system, our choices and experiences in life either lead to something beautiful that we can appreciate and admire the hard work or can become a bundle of weeds amidst beautiful things.

Tarrah works to provide a space for people to make sense of the experiences, challenges, and growth moments they go through in a way that leads to something helpful moving forward by using multiple theoretical approaches, including Adlerian, Emotionally Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral therapies, and Brain spotting. There is no one size fits all.
